What this website collects, which analytics it runs, and how to opt out or have data deleted.

Who runs this site

This is the personal website of Deepanshu Lathar, based in Delhi NCR, India. This policy covers deepanshulathar.com except the pages under /labs, which have their own policy.

Analytics

Only the home page loads analytics, and only after you first scroll, tap, type or move the pointer on it. It uses two tools:

• Google Analytics 4 counts visits and records the pages viewed, the site you came from, your device and browser type, and your approximate location worked out from your IP address.
• Microsoft Clarity records how the page is used: clicks, scrolling and pointer movement. It can replay a visit as a recording and build heatmaps from many visits.

Both set cookies in your browser and send this information to Google and Microsoft, who process it under their own privacy policies. I use it only to see which parts of the site are read and to fix what is not working. I do not use it for advertising, and I do not sell or share it.

The other pages (About, Sidequests, the project pages, Support and this policy) and everything under /labs load no analytics.

Turning analytics off

Analytics does not load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. You can also switch it off for this browser here:

The choice is remembered on this device only. Cookies already set by an earlier visit stay until they expire or you clear them in your browser settings.

GitHub data

The open-source ledger on the Sidequests page shows my public GitHub activity. It is normally fetched by my server. If that fails, your browser asks the GitHub API directly, so GitHub may see your IP address.

Stored on your device

• Your analytics choice, if you use the switch above (kept until you change it).
• Whether you paused the site’s animations, kept only for the current tab and cleared when you close it.

None of this is sent to me.

Contact links

The email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and GitHub buttons only open your own app or that site. Nothing you write there passes through this website.

Hosting and links

The site is hosted by Vercel, which may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and the pages requested, to keep the site running. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties.

Project links go to separate sites with their own policies: ProofMart, Gapl and LpuTV.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete personal data I hold about you, or withdraw consent, at any time, including under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Email deepanshulathar [at] gmail.com and I will respond within 30 days.

This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect their data.

This policy may change as the site changes. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
